Who needs a KVM when you can download a free software tool to do it for you? Teleport is that tool. If my desk wasn’t so messy at the moment I would show off my setup. But basically I have my MacBook Pro (my primary computer) hooked up to my 24 inch monitor. I have my MacBook to the right of that monitor on a stand and then across the room I have my Mac mini hooked up the TV. I used to use Screen Sharing to go between one and the other, but that causes me to use of screen real estate on my primary computer. Instead with Teleport,  just move the mouse off the right side of my main computer and I am on my MacBook. If I move it to the top left corner, I jump to my Mac mini.

The beauty of this is that it’s like having three monitors. So if I get a video link that I want to watch I can watch t on a different computer while continuing to work on whatever I was working on. Also, I can have the web page I am working on loaded on screen and the code on another and not have to have alt-tab all the time. It’s REALLY nice when I am playing a DVD or podcast on my mini and need to pause it or change to something different or whatever without having to open up screen sharing.
